Meltem: Meltem has published a book in which she attempted to reconstruct her familyhistory from the past 100 years. The story -based on true events- starts in a time in which Turkey was founded and the Middle East was created. Now this is a region that started to change rapidly. The book starts with her quest for a layer in her identity that was hidden. She elaborates on different ideas like multiple identities, unrootedness and cosmopolitanism. Meltem has travelled to several cities in Turkey, Syria and Lebanon that are important to her and her family in order to make connections between current and past events.
